♿ New Roads, New Rules Podcast Accessibility Statement

Date Last Updated: December 4, 2025

1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

New Roads, New Rules is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive, user-friendly experience for everyone who visits our website, listens to our podcast, or participates in our community. Accessibility is a core value and an ongoing responsibility as we work to ensure our digital content meets the needs of all users.

2. Accessibility Standard

We are actively working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA—recognized international standards based on four key principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR).

3. Conformance Status and Efforts

At this time, we believe our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, meaning some areas may not yet fully meet the guidelines.

Measures We Take to Support Accessibility:

  • Design & Contrast: We aim to use accessible fonts, sizes, and color contrast.

  • Keyboard Navigation: Our site is designed to be usable with a keyboard only.

  • Alternative Text: Meaningful images include descriptive alt text.

  • Headings & Structure: We maintain a logical heading structure for easier navigation and screen reader compatibility.

  • Audio/Video: We work to provide captions or transcripts for pre-recorded audio and video where possible.

4. Known Limitations

While we continually improve accessibility, some limitations may still exist:

  • Older Embedded Content: Some third-party embeds may not fully conform to WCAG standards.

  • Podcast Player: The embedded Buzzsprout player is controlled by their platform, and full accessibility depends on their compliance.

We are evaluating alternatives and improvements for any non-conforming content.

5. Technical Specifications

Our website relies on the following technologies for compatibility with assistive tools and modern browsers:

  • HTML

  • WAI-ARIA

  • CSS

  • JavaScript

We recommend using the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge, along with modern assistive technologies.

6. Feedback and Contact Information
