The Two Feelings Nobody Tells You Come Together
Can we talk about something I'm right in the middle of?
I'm in the empty nest season — and nobody warned me it would feel like two things at once.
Some days the quiet hits me out of nowhere. I miss the everyday stuff — the random kitchen talks, the "hey Mom" from the other room, just having them around. I didn't realize how much I'd ache for that one-on-one time until it got rarer.
And then… right alongside that ache… is this huge, swelling pride. Because I'm watching them build lives of their own. Real lives. The whole point of everything I poured in — and here it is, happening. 💛
That's the part nobody tells you: the sad and the proud don't take turns. They show up holding hands. And somehow you learn to feel both without one canceling the other out.
So I want to open this up, because I know I'm not the only one standing in a strange in-between right now:
👉 What transition are YOU navigating? Empty nest, career shift, divorce, a move, a new chapter you didn't see coming? And if you've already walked through one — what helped you hold the hard part and the good part at the same time?
Drop it below. No transition is too big or too small. This is exactly the kind of road we travel better together. 🛣️
